Danny Jensen, Programs Chair Los Angeles City Historical Society, arranged a tour of TOM House for the Society’s members, giving them a great opportunity to learn about Tom of Finland, the Foundation, and the historic architecture of the House.
Tom of Finland Foundation volunteer docents were at the ready to show our guests the property and answer questions. Many commented that is was important to discover and explore this Echo Park treasure that has created a community for so many.
Tom of Finland’s home in LA is recognized not only for its historic architecture but as a cultural resource of the City of Los Angeles. Tom of Finland House (TOM House) is significant for its association with Tom, the historic personage who lived here during the last decade of his life. This era marked a particularly productive period in his career with his contributions to erotic art and Gay culture.
