Viewing Tips

1. Click on the little Home icon on the left of the menu bar. Here you will find the entries to the 2022 Tom of Finland Emerging Artist Competition.

2. To view a larger image of an entry, simply click anywhere on the image. You can use your browser’s zoom feature to further examine the entry detail. You can progress thru the images using the back/forward arrows seen on either side of the image.

3. From the drop-down menu, you can filter the entries by the five galleries that represent the five categories for this contest. NOTE: opening a file from the thumbnail grid will open the large view of that image, but the forward/back arrows will take you to the next/previous image entry overall NOT the next entry in the previously filtered category.

If viewing a filtered category, DO NOT use the forward/back arrows to go to another image.

A glitch has been pointed out in the contest program where when choosing a “category” and viewing an image, when using the arrow for next image, the program jumps out of that particular category and reverts back to the ALLCATEGORY order

A work around to ensure you stay in the category you are viewing – Rather than using the arrows to go to the next image, use you browser’s Back key to take you from the image you just voted on back to the thumbnail grid of the block of 100 images from whatever category you are working on. You should then be able to select, using the star, the next image in that category you want to vote on.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT THE THUMBNAILS APPEAR IN BLOCKS OF 100 IMAGES. IF A CATEGORY HAS MORE THAN 40 ENTRIES, THERE WILL BE PAGE NUMBER RECTANGLES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE THUMBNAIL GRID. ONCE YOU COMPLETE ONE PAGE OF 40, PLEASE REMEMBER TO CONTINUE ON TO THE THE NEXT PAGE, TO ENSURE YOU HAVE SEEN ALL THE ENTRIES IN A CATEGORY

4. There are a few video/animation entries in the Competition. In most of these entries, a thumbnail STILL is used as a place holder. Clicking on that thumbnail will open the larger view and a link to the actual vid/animation file is found in the Description area under the image.
