Erotic art online in pandemic time

20th October 2020, 7:11 pm

The deep social changes of 2020, paired with the physical act of social distancing during COVID-19, create new, incredibly challenging circumstances under which to create erotic art today. Especially for artists who work online, shadowbanning and the targeting of marginalized bodies add censorship issues to the promotion and distribution of one’s art.

As we remain unable to gather in celebration of erotic art and queer performance, we are thrilled to offer this online conversation between two Friends of TOM. ToFF is joined by erotic artists Carta Monir and Anshuman Iddamsetty (Boarlord). Carta is an award-winning artist, publisher, and porn performer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Anshuman is a Tkaronto-based fat artist, writer, podcast producer and erotic performer. His debut book, Hello Pig: Notes For a Fat Future, is forthcoming on Strange Light.
