At a moment of unprecedented creativity in men’s fashion and reflection on gender, this exhibition explores how designers, tailors and artists – and their clients and sitters – have constructed and performed masculinity, and unpicked it at the seams.

The exhibition traces how menswear has been fashioned and refashioned over the centuries, and how designers, tailors and artists have constructed and performed masculinity. Sponsored by the House, the show features a selection of Gucci looks including a custom gown designed by Alessandro Michele and worn by Harry Styles as the first solo male cover star of US Vogue in 2020, a velvet suit from the Cruise 2016 Tailoring collection—also worn by Harry Styles in the campaign, a Gucci Spring Summer 2001 suit by Tom Ford and other key designs by Gucci Creative Director, Alessandro Michele.
