About the Sexhibition

Playroom is Oat Montien’s first presentation in Bangkok since his residency at Tom of Finland Foundation in 2022. Inspired by his experience in Los Angeles, this brand new series of pastel drawings is the artist’s most daring and erotic works yet. The works will be displayed alongside BDSM equipment in the actual darkroom at Art Space Silom located within PULSE Club BackDoor (CBD) by PULSE Social Enterprise. Each piece celebrates a particular flavor in the Queer and kink community, inviting the audience to “play” with no shame.

We are thrilled to open our doors to this unconventional presentation and create dialogues on erotic art, sexual heath and raise awareness of sex-positive lifestyles.

The Playroom: Sexhibition will open to public on 8th May, which is Tom of Finland’s birthday, as a tribute to his legacy. The show will runs through 31st July.

About the artist Oat Montien

Born in 1989, Oat Montien is one of the most prominent erotic artists in Bangkok. His works explore intimacy between the artist and his models, with strong emphasis on their gender and sexual identities. In 2022, Oat was Tom of Finland Foundation’s first Artist-in-Residence from Southeast Asia. He has exhibited his works with prestigious institutions worldwide including: Chulalongkorn University Museum of Natural History (Bangkok), Thailand Cultural Center (Bangkok), Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (Bangkok), The Book Club (London), Chester Beatty Library (Dublin), Today Art Museum (Beijing). He is also the founder of Bodhisattava Gallery, Thailand’s first LGBTQ+ art space.
