Presented by LA UP Gallery, SEXPOSED is a community-focused art exhibition, featuring queer and LGBT+ artists who champion self-empowerment with works focused on sex and sexuality, fetish-freedom, body-positivity, and the disruption of harmful societal dispositions surrounding abuse, harassment, and inequality.
SEXPOSED is fully committed to presenting artists severely underrepresented in the art industry, and invigorating strength and sexuality by offering an communicative platform of solidarity through the intersectionality of art and activism. SEXPOSED aims to stimulate guests of all genders, creeds, and backgrounds by catalyzing provocative conversation, and challenging biased ideas of sexuality through the queer-experience.
SEXPOSED is curated by Colette von, who has a long history of activism through her presentations and gallery work. SEXPOSED believes in giving back to the local community, and is committed to donating exhibition proceeds to organizations doing amazing work. This year, SEXPOSED will be benefiting THE LA LGBT YOUTH CENTER. Admission to the event is free, but donations to the nonprofit are strongly encouraged when checking in.
In addition to the curated selection of art, SEXPOSED will include exquisite, hand-picked performances (Friday: Boy Untitled; Saturday: Special Mystery Guest!); a boiler-room peep show; artisanal, local vendors; and intimate experiences. A bar will be present, however, non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. All guests must be 21+, and must wear a Covid-conpliant mask or face covering to the event.
SEXPOSED will be held on Friday, June 25th and Saturday, June 26th in Downtown Los Angeles at the PSKAUFMAN boutique gallery, located through the alley at 113 E. 8th St. Downtown Los Angeles, 90014. Artists, fans, and guests will be gifted entry to the underground, hidden gallery located within the iconic designer boutique. With grace and selflessness, PSKAUFMAN continually supports communities of artists, activists, and artisanal creators with partnerships and sponsorships of events and fundraisers.
