“15 Fotografiska Years”

This exhibition offers audience favorites from 15 years of the world’s best photography, from the biggest international names to our Swedish masters. 

This exhibition celebrates the power of photography as the most accessible and influential art form of our age, through which we mirror ourselves and our surroundings. Few other mediums can both challenge us and promote understanding so effectively. This is an opportunity for fond reunions with many of the photographers and artists that our guests have met over the years, but we will also be meeting the future through four young visual artists in the parallel exhibition Meanwhile. Together, the exhibitions are a tribute to photography as a technique and art form and a unique opportunity to experience outstanding Swedish and international photography.

Since its inauguration in 2010, Fotografiska has held 279 exhibitions in the building, and now they are revisiting nearly half of these in one of the largest group exhibitions since the museum’s inception. 

Nearly 120 audience favorites are returning with iconic works, from such international stars as Andres Serrano, Sally Mann, David LaChapelle, Zanele Muholi, Inez & Vinoodh, Robert Mapplethorpe, Shirin Neshat, Nick Brandt, James Nachtwey, Alison Jackson, Tom of Finland and Pixy Liao.
