Colton Haynes just paid homage to legendary homoerotic artist Tom of Finland by posting pics of himself wearing an all-leather outfit to his Instagram recently, and let’s just say we’re ready to ride with Colton anywhere he wants to take us.

While the Arrow and Teen Wolf alum looks great wolfed out in front of the camera (he’s set to appear in the new, recently-announced Teen Wolf movie on Paramount+ alongside his old co-star Tyler Posey), we have to say we prefer it when he’s sporting leather rather than fur.

Tom of Finland immortalized an entire homoerotic look for gay men via his iconic drawings and pictures. Out spoke with the Tom of Finland Foundation leaders recently, and learned it was “dangerous” for both the models and photographers at the time.

Colton Haynes (Arrow, Teen Wolf) went all leather daddy in an Instagram post paying tribute to the iconic images of Tom of Finland.

Included in the post were two drawings by Tom of Finland whose homoerotic drawings shaped the fantasies of a generation of gay men before crossing over into broader cultural awareness.

Of course, fans of the CW super-hero series Arrow know this isn’t Haynes’s first trip to the leather rodeo. His character ‘Arsenal’ rocked a red leather super-suit in his adventures. And speaking of fantasies, Haynes revealed that the Teen Wolf pack is getting back together.

COMPLETE ARTICLE

We love Colton Haynes. We particularly love Colton when he’s being unashamedly queer… such as dressing up as a Tom of Finland fantasy.

Colton posted a series of photos of himself to Instagram in leather, complete with a Muir cap and biker jacket. He tagged Tom of Finland Foundation and included a couple of drawings by the iconic artist.

It’s unclear whether Colton was just dressing up for fun, for a fashion shoot, or for an acting role. His caption for the images simply said: “This film is not yet rated. Intentional or not, that was also the title of a 2006 documentary that looked at how Hollywood rates movies, exploring disparities between movies between big studios and small independents, and between straight and gay themes.

Tom of Finland was the moniker for the iconic Finnish artist.

Tom’s erotic art immediately found a following, not only for the male beauty it depicted and photorealistic approach but also because his drawing showed guys unapologetically and shamelessly enjoying sex with one another. His men were often shown smiling and staring lustily at one another: a sexy, liberating utopian fantasy that most gay men could only dream about in real life at that time.
