“A suite of forty-two unique Polaroids taken whilst artist-in-residence at Tom of Finland Foundation in Echo Park, Los Angeles in 2014.”
“In 2014 I was the first official artist-in-residence at the Tom of Finland Foundation in Los Angeles, California, a place that really feels like home to me. Sponsored by Polaroid, I produced a suite of photographs titled 1421 Laveta Terrace (the address of the Foundation) documenting and celebrating my time there and exhibited them with my then gallery as well as produced a limited edition book. This year marks Tom’s 100th birthday and many projects and events are planned to celebrate his life and legacy, including one of my own. To give some support to ToFF (a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational archive), I’m releasing a limited edition (of 25) portfolio of 12 prints from 1421 Laveta Terrace, presented in a handmade blind embossed black leather pouch with 25% of profits from sales being donated to ToFF. The portfolio will contain the original text from the book by Durk Dehner (president and cofounder of ToFF) as well as a new text from artist Simon Haas. The portfolio has been released on 8th May (Tom’s birthday) with an online exhibition of this work.”
