ORSEN (Briton)
Orsen (born Mark Haddon) was a costume designer better known for his erotic art and cartoons. Active in the 1960s and ’70s, his artist name was inspired by the William Shakespeare Twelfth Night character Orsino.
PHILIP CORE (B. 1951 D. 1989, American)
Philip McCammon Core was an artist and writer who spent most of his life in England. A figure painter and draughtsman, Core was well-known as a broadcaster of arts and a photographic critic in the British national press. He became the photography critic for The Independent and wrote a number of obituaries for the newspaper, including those for Robert Mapplethorpe and Jean-Michel Basquiat. His work is in the collections Arts Council of Great Britain, London, and Tom of Finland Foundation, Los Angeles, CA.
