An Acoustic Series

Beyond the Hedges is an acoustic series that invites everyone into the magical home of Tom of Finland. Tom spent his final years, here, at TOM House, welcuming all who came…through the gates at 1421 Laveta Terrace.

Tom was an avid music lover, blues, classical, rock and more.

Beyond the Hedges bridges one of Tom’s loves and invites folks to learn about his legacy and the work that Tom of Finland Foundation does.

A monthly music series the last Sunday of every month

30th June – Shamir
For June we invite Shamir: A true chameleon of music. His first release was steeped in dance, and his latest music is a stunningly beautiful take on pop music and flipping it on its head through lo-fi production.

3:00p – Shamir
4:30p – Mike ETC
5:30p – Shannon

28th July – Hand Habits
For July we invite Hand Habits, Kera and the Lesbians and Night Shop. Meg Duffy arguably released one of the most beautiful albums of 2019. Their album contemplates the fragility of human relationships through self-discovery. Their music evokes waves of warm intimacy, inviting a dreamlike interpretation of Americana.

5:30p – Hand Habits

DJ Bongwater will spin intermittently throughout the afternoon.

25th August – Kate Berlant

For August we invite comedian Kate Berlant. We could make the case that Berlant is one of comedy’s finest. Berlant’s show explores our personalities or language patterns are themselves performances. Berlant’s act is hard to describe, but avant-garde/ plannedimprov/ experimental /digressive /ranty /silly /stream-of-consciousness... Plus we have the beacon of bi-sexuality on the bill, Ms Margaret Cho. Cho is a groundbreaking force of nature advocating for queer rights and visibility in the asian community.

Anyway, just trust us and come.

3:15p – Beth Stelling
4:30p – Margaret Cho
5:30p – Kate Berlant & Casey Jane Ellison
Seth Bogart will spin intermittently throughout the afternoon.
