Black History Month spotlight: Michael Mitchell

Celebrating Black History Month: Tom of Finland Foundation honors Michael Mitchell, an artist proudly represented in our permanent collection.

Michael Mitchell (American, b. 1952) has drawn all his life and has been doing figure drawing since high school. He has worked as a storyboard illustrator for ad agencies in New York City. He is currently doing drawings and paintings of the male figure, and his work has appeared in Hardjobs magazine.

Recently, the 2023 DIESEL x Tom of Finland Foundation Pride capsule collection featured Mitchell’s work.
