The first exhibition of its kind and largest in central Europe, Houses of Tove Jansson will be devoted to the life and work of Tove Jansson, the Finnish writer, artist and creator of the beloved Moomin characters, alongside artworks by contemporary artists and designers inspired by her legacy. Exploring the complexities of someone who created a set of her own rules as a female and Queer artist in the years before and after World War II, the exhibition will bring together key works that were turning points in her career, including a selection of Jansson’s paintings, drawings, illustrations, and texts, some of which will be on show for the first time. Opening during Paris Fashion Week and extending through Paris+, par Art Basel, the exhibition is curated by The Community, in collaboration with the artist’s estate and Moomin Characters.
