Announcing a new presentation of work by illustrator Pol Anglada.

During his residency at Tom of Finland Foundation, Anglada chose to depict Los Angeles and his day-to-day whereabouts through a voyeur’s lens. His teenage fantasies of California, shaped mainly by Greg Araki’s Nowhere, Less Than Zero by Bret Eston Ellis and punk music, infuse the series of drawings. The odd romanticism of parking lots, the repeated mantra “Disappear here” from the Ellis novel, and the context of his presence in particular situations all imbue the work with a feeling that we shouldn’t be staring yet we cannot look away.
