To celebrate Pride month in Madrid, the Ibero-American Institute of Madrid has organized an exhibition entitled TOM OF FINLAND Pride and Pleasure in collaboration with the Madrid gallery Studio RGF Arriaza 11. The free exhibition is part of the G de Hombre (Gay) Festival, and it opens on 31st May and can be visited through 29th June at the aforementioned gallery.

Tom of Finland (May 8, 1920 – November 7, 1991) is one of the most internationally-renowned Finnish artists. His drawings are a unique celebration of men who enjoy their homosexuality with freedom and pride.

TOM OF FINLAND Pride and Pleasure is an educational exhibition and presents careful reproductions of the most emblematic works of Tom’s long career while celebrating the 40th anniversary of Tom of Finland Foundation, founded in 1984. The exhibition is curated by the Finnish artist Tero Puha, former Foundation Artist-in-Residence in 2023 and with whom the Institute has previously collaborated.

The Madrid exhibition presents the careful reproductions of Tom of Finland drawings along with two works by Edith Hammar and Tero Puha, artists who have been inspired by the work of the iconic Finn.
