CARLOS ENFEDAQUE “It was happiness, the moment right then.”

A solo exhibition by Carlos Enfedaque at Tom of Finland Foundation exploring happiness as a fleeting experience shaped by memory, place, and perception across Berlin, Mexico City, and Los Angeles.
The work reflects on presence and impermanence, using Los Angeles hummingbirds as a metaphor for moments of joy that vanish when observed or held onto.
Following a Mexico City residency engaging Queer Mexican poetry, Enfedaque expands his practice from painting into photography, installation, and Super 8 film, returning to the human figure through poetic imagery.
The exhibition is grounded in “possibility” and shaped by influences including Steven Arnold, Paul Cadmus, Jean Cocteau, Tom of Finland, Tacita Dean, and Rafa Esparza.
