To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Tom of Finland Foundation, and as part of the2024 Diesel x Tom of Finland Foundation Pride program supported by Diesel, the Forty Years of Pride exhibition was held at the Diesel Art Gallery at the Diesel boutique in Shibuya, and a number of guests appeared dressed in gorgeous outfits at the opening reception and after-party for the third collaboration capsule collection for Pride 2024.
The venue for Forty Years of Pride was the bright red Diesel Shibuya boutique, built to add a touch of elegance to the corner of a busy intersection in Shibuya. The two events were attended by a variety of artists, transcending race, age and gender, including Tom of Finland Foundation co-founder Durk Dehner and creative director Richard Villani, who came to Japan just for the event, as well as Japanese gay erotic artist Gengoroh Tagame, singer-songwriter Aisho Nakajima, YouTuber Shintaka, artist Kae Tanaka, and performer/director Axel Abyss.
Before the gallery’s opening reception, we had the opportunity to speak with Tom of Finland Foundation President and Cofounder and living legend of gay erotic art Durk Denner about the exhibition and capsule collection celebrating the 40th anniversary of Tom of Finland Foundation.
