Richard Villani, ToFF’s Director of Global Partnerships & Exhibitions, is a creative director, photo director, and producer, Villani began his career at Robert Mapplethorpe’s studio, compiling the photographer’s estate archive with Christie’s. He went on to work with Vogue, Interview, and Vanity Fair, collaborating with some of the world’s most esteemed photographers and producing celebrated portfolios such as Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood and New Establishment Issues. Villani was recently named to Wallpaper Magazine’s “Wallpaper* 400”—a list of the people shaping culture in America in 2025.
At Tom of Finland Foundation, Villani oversees the annual Art & Culture Festival and Emerging Artist Contest while cultivating relationships with artists and clients worldwide. His goal is to support past and present erotic artists and archives through curation, strategy, and project development.
