The Forty Years of Pride exhibition by Tom of Finland Foundation will be held at the Diesel Art Gallery in Shibuya from 12th July to 14th August. This exhibition celebrates the 40th anniversary of the founding of Tom of Finland Foundation, a pioneer of Gay art, and will be showing Tom of Finland ‘s iconic works and the documentary virtual reality work TOM House – The VR Experience, which allows you to experience the house in Los Angeles where he spent the last 10 years of his life, for the first time in Japan.

Tom of Finland is known worldwide for his erotic works, which revolutionized Gay culture and the art scene. His muscular, free-spirited male figures have boldly confronted social prejudices and taught many people the importance of courage and self-expression. His art has boosted the confidence and pride of the community and had a major impact on the LGBTQ+ movement around the world, influencing many artists, including Freddie Mercury, Andy Warhol, Jean Paul Gaultier, Tom Ford, Helmut Lang, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Bruce Weber.
