Introducing Jamison Edgar, curator for the upcoming A-i-R exhibition in West Hollywood

We are delighted to announce the curator for our upcoming exhibition celebrating the past fifteen years of our Artist-in-Residence Program, Jamison Edgar! As a curator, their mission is to exuberantly honor the indispensable role that Queer, Trans, Black, and Brown artists play in shaping our imaginations. They describe themselves as “a historical triangulator and an avid student of the dance floor.”
Edgar collaborates with a range of institutions, galleries, and collectives in Los Angeles. Most notably, serving as Director at Honor Fraser from 2021 to 2024 and cofounding DEPARTURE LOUNGE, a nomadic exhibition platform supporting overworked artists and underfunded models of cultural exchange.
Uniting archival materials, artworks, and interviews with A-i-R alumni to trace the residency’s ongoing evolution, they will generate new insights into the lineage of TOM House. The immersive survey at Plummer Park’s Long Hall will commemorate the collective impact of the residency and the diverse art practices that honor, extend, and wrestle with Tom of Finland’s legacy.
