On 22nd-23rd July, Tom of Finland Foundation will bring the Tom of Finland Art & Culture Festival to London once again, this time taking place at The Standard hotel in King’s Cross. Also taking place in Berlin and LA, this year’s Festival is the Foundation’s annual programming effort to bring together artists, galleries and patrons from all over the globe to celebrate Queer and erotic art.
Curated by Richard Villani, this year’s Festival will see artists showcase their work over the weekend. Artists include Rick Castro, Martin Perry, Matt Pagett, Cyril Arsac, Richard Kilroy, Ed Firth, Felipe Chavez, James Dearlove, Ad Schuring, and more, plus wearable silk art by Pâme and a gallery curated by The Queer Archive especially for the Festival.
As well as the gallerists and artists showcasing at the Festival, throughout the weekend there will also be a selection of talks and activities centered on art and erotica. Among the offerings are the “Leather Talk – Past, Present, Future” discussion with Brew Hunter and Sir Durk Dehner; a discussion on porn featuring performers John Thomas, Gabriel Cross, and more; a life-drawing session coordinated by Sketch Sesh’s James Davison with soundscape by Anal House Meltdown; and the “Writing Queer Sex” discussion between Jeremy Atherton Lin and Lauren John Joseph and moderated by Amelia Abraham.
To kick the weekend off, Tom of Finland will be throwing a pre-party in collaboration with Brew Hunter’s HUNTER party. Taking place on Friday 21st July at Electrowerkz, the dress code will fit across various subcultures within the Fetish community.
The Tom of Finland Art & Culture Festival 2023 – GlobalSexual will take place 22nd–23rd July in London.
