Under the motto GlobalSexual, the Tom of Finland Art & Culture Festival will take place for the first time in Berlin from 12th-14th May. The venue is the former women’s prison in Lichterfelde. The Festival, which brings together artists, galleries and patrons from around the world, has been organized by Tom of Finland Foundation from Los Angeles for 28 years to celebrate the great Finnish artist Tom of Finland (1920-1991) and his enduring inspiration to celebrated artists. The eventin Berlin is supported by the Queer studio community prideART Berlin.

With the historic women’s prison at Soethstraße 7, which has found a new purpose as art space The Knast for over a year, there could not be a more suitable location for the festival. The highlight is an exhibition with paintings, photographs and collages by around 30 artists, including Rick Castro, Spyros Rennt, Romain Berger and Henning von Berg. The picture shown above is an selection from the series Sunset Boulevard by Rinaldo Hopf.
