Right in the heart of it
An independent continuation in New York of AllTogether, the exhibition is co-curated by The Community and Tom of Finland Foundation and supported by DIESEL. Shown for the first time in Venice during the 59th Venice Biennale and in Paris in 2022, the exhibition presented to the public for the first time Tom of Finland Foundation’s permanent collection of Gay and erotic art. After the success of the first two shows, this third chapter of the project will take place near the site of the Stonewall uprising and on the route of the 2023 NYC Pride March.
The AllTogether Clubhouse is a homecoming show celebrating the history of Queer culture in New York, from nightlife and the erotic arts to uncompromising activism. The exhibition will focus on the Foundation’s archive, presenting works by pioneering artists combined with contemporary and younger artists whose work and practice revolve around New York’s Queer histories, as well as New York artists whose works will be in dialogue with Tom of Finland for the first time.
The exhibition space will be activated daily from noon to late through extensive programming of talks, screenings, performances, and concerts, connecting generations of local figures, including LGBTQIA+ organizations and associations, who have shaped and borne witness to the ever-changing New York Queer scene over the past decades.
Wear your Pride
As part of the celebration, and available 1st June, DIESEL has again partnered with Tom of Finland Foundation and The Community on a special Pride 2023 capsule collection that amplifies the message of freedom of expression, sexuality and individualism.
