“Albert Schunck was an out and proud, gay, German Leatherman who loved sex and irony. A patron of the arts, Albert knew early on that he wanted to be immortalized by THE Tom of Finland, which was why he commissioned drawing #89.16. He had the wisdom to safeguard his legacy by leaving this and another drawing (#87.22) to Tom of Finland Foundation’s permanent collection for posterity.” – Durk Dehner, President & Cofounder of Tom of Finland Foundation on the bequeathal by Albert Schunck of two original Tom of Finland drawings.
