Tom of Finland Foundation is presenting the Tom of Finland Art & Culture Festival 2023 – GlobalSexual. This year, the Festival touches down in Berlin, London, and Los Angeles. The Festival in Los Angeles will be open to the public Saturday 7th October 7th from 11a–7p and Sunday 8th October from 12–7p.
“We are so happy to bring the Festival home to Los Angeles. For some reason, the stars just shine brighter here,” says Foundation CXO S.R. Sharp.
The Festival is the Foundation’s yearly programming effort to bring together artists, galleries and patrons from all over the globe in a socially friendly setting, so that they can network as well as buy and sell works.
“My goal with the Art & Culture Festival is to pave the way for the next generation of Queer and erotic artists, while expanding to more cities and communities around the world,” says Festival lead and Foundation Creative Director Richard Villani.
This year will see Soho Warehouse host the Festival for its flagship iteration. Situated in a former storage facility-turned-recording studio in Downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District, this will be the first time Soho Warehouse partners with Tom of Finland Foundation.
This year’s event will bring together erotic artists, panelists, DJs, and galleries. Amongst the participating artists are Rick Castro, S. M. Shifflett, Rubén Esparza, Steve MacIsaac, and Nora Rachel. Vendors offering their wares and services include Peachy Kings, The Mr. She, and Folklore Salon & Barber.
Scheduled programming includes a kiki with The House of Avalon, a conversation about LGBT non-profit organizations with Phillip Picardi and Gerald Garth, a chat with some of your favorite porn stars, and a discussion with previous and current Tom of Finland Foundation artists-in-residence Jordan Michael Green, Jamison Karon, Felix d’Eon, and Jonathan David Smyth.
