Calendar 2024 – Thinking is sexy

A well-rounded finish

Things are going well with Tom of Finland. Anyone who is familiar with his sometimes fun, playful, sometimes almost drooling dirty, and often subtle drawings knows about the round bumps and golden, delicious apple asses. Not uncommon, of course, are the bulging, round cocks that you almost think you see popping off the screens or, here, on the calendar page.

It is a celebration to look at the twelve or fourteen images in the calendar published by Salzgeber. In short, they provide an outline of the work of the exceptional artist, who, despite his often unambiguous and repeatedly threatened and affected by censorship, homo – erotic art, mostly in connection with Leather, managed to achieve international fame and honor and still does so today with Tom’s pioneering style to be admired.

This is what Tom of Finland Foundation stands for, which he founded with his business partner Durk Dehner during his lifetime in 1984 and which continually invites exciting artists to its artist-in-residence program in Los Angeles (including Daphne von Rey, Florian Hetz, Brontez Purnell, Ben Youdan and Rinaldo Hopf, who likes to get inspiration there). There is also a large artist archive there.

Now no one necessarily has to travel to Los Angeles to enjoy some exciting views – the Tom of Finland 2024 calendar does the best job and it’s a pleasure to look at it in more detail – which is possible thanks to various publications. For example, there is a Tom of Finland Foundation SPECIAL My Gay Eye annual anthology and the current anniversary edition #20 UNCENSORED explains in detail how Tom developed his works.
