Tom of Finland Foundation presents a pop-up exhibition showcasing emerging LGBTQ+ artists from the Foundation’s Artist-in-Residence Program; this diverse group exhibition features new and recent artworks by fourteen international young artists.
The unique exhibition includes works by some of the program’s most recent artists including:
Tristor Blue (Finnish), Felix d’Eon (Mexican), Michael Espinoza (American), Fan Xiaobing (Chinese),
Fausto (German), FCK-Frédérick Gautier (French), frank.xarate (Colombian),
Phuc Le (Vietnamese), Rev. Steven Johnson Leyba (Native American),
Carta Monir (American), Jacob Love (Briton), Stuart Sandford (Briton),
Donald C. Shorter, Jr. (American), Jonathan David Smyth (Irish), and Yun-Pei (Taiwanese).
Visitors to Made at TOM House will experience artworks made using a variety of processes and materials including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, printed banners, polaroid photography, needlework, and weaving. Explore the themes of identity and eroticism from a diverse array of perspectives and cultures, these artists seek to discover celebratory visual expressions of a fundamental human activity that connects us with ourselves and others.
A highlight of the exhibition is a historic color drawing by Michael Kirwan (American, 1953 – 2018) who is recognized for his “everyman” characters that illustrate Gay lust and its realities and is acknowledged as the Program’s first visiting artist-in-residence. In addition to works by emerging LGBTQ+ artists, the exhibition will also include a selection of limited edition prints of some of Tom of Finland’s most iconic drawings.

Every piece in the show will be available for sale, providing art, Leather, and desert lovers and collectors a chance to own a piece of this celebration.
The Tom of Finland Foundation Artist-in-Residence Program provides an opportunity for young artists from around the world to stay for up to three months at historic TOM House in Echo Park where Tom of Finland spent half of each year during the last decade of his life making more than a quarter of his artistic output.
