Gravett and Dehner discuss Tom of Finland’s work in publishing, books and comics.
They explore the tension between Tom’s comics of the 1940s,
before censorship laws changed, and his later, more explicit work.

Durk Dehner is the President of Tom of Finland Foundation, which he cofounded with Tom of Finland himself. He co-curated the current exhibition Tom of Finland: Love and Liberation.

Paul Gravett is a curator, lecturer, journalist and broadcaster whose work appears in The GuardianThe TimesThe IndependentThe Daily Telegraph and The Times Literary Supplement. He co-curated two House of Illustration exhibitions: Posy Simmonds: A Retrospective in 2019 and Comix Creatrix: 100 Women Making Comics in 2016.
