Joy, bravery and pride

The celebrated Tom of Finland musical returns to the stage with its second premiere at Hämeenlinna City Theatre on 3rd September 2026.
The librettist of the original production, which debuted in Turku in 2017, Tuomas Parkkinen, will once again take the helm as director. Parkkinen describes the musical’s spirit in three words: “Joy, bravery and pride.”
The story traces Tom’s journey from childhood through the Second World War years to his rise as an internationally acclaimed artist. On stage, Tom’s iconic works come to life in unforgettable scenes, from the rugged loggers to Kake’s adventures.

Creative Team
The new choreography is by Jukka Haapalainen, dancer, choreographer, and long-time judge of Dancing with the Stars Finland.
