Tero Puha

“When modern man searches for his identity and the purpose of his life, he must confront the blurred line between natural and unnatural, and decide which side to exist in. This delicate balance acts as a source of inspiration for my art.” – Tero Puha

Tero Puha is an award-winning photographer, visual artist and filmmaker working with digital and analog media. His work explores the life of modern man, focusing on body image, identity, gender roles and consumerism.

Puha has released two books of photography and has completed five short films as director. His multidisciplinary and interactive installations combine performance, graphic art and video. His art has been exhibited internationally and can be found in the collections of several art museums and private collections in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Puha was awarded with the Finnish State Prize in Photographic Arts in 2014 and received the 2019 Culture Award from his hometown of Nurmijärvi, Finland. Many of his photographs and short films have received international acclaim, winning awards at competitions and film festivals.
