Tom says “Relax”

This past Saturday, tens of thousands of revelers in Sydney came out to Oxford Street for the Sydney World Pride parade. This year, Sydney’s annual Mardi Gras celebration coincided with World Pride, and it also saw the first time a sitting Australian Prime Minister took part in all the gaiety.
One highlight was TOM’s Man, a four meter-tall construction of a Tom of Finland drawing. Rendered in just the right shade of graphite, this parade float is the brainchild of Teresa Leggett. Teresa had the idea to recreate an iconic Tom of Finland parade float from 1988, and we think they pulled it off!
Flanked by dozens of bikers, Leathermen, and other TOM’s Men dancing to “Relax” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, our man in gray sported quite the appendage only fitting for a Tom of Finland character.
We want to thank Teresa Leggett and her team of volunteers for bringing this float to life.
