JOSH KATZ

Josh Katz is a tattoo and mural artist based in Oakland, California. His murals center LGBTQ+ community icons who inspire him, with recent works including portraits of Heklina at Cafe Flore in The Castro, and Sylveter at Oasis nightclub. His tattoos similarly focus on Queer imagery, but through a playful lens. MONOPINK

MONOPINK is a fetish/kink-forward artist residing in Southern California. Their work features illustrations based off of the Tom of Finland iconography, redrawn with trans-masculine and Queer bodies, aesthetics, and erotic situations. Their influences derive from East Bay zine and punk culture, as well as pastel surrealism. They also specialize in kink and functional chainmail, specifically for people who seek skin-safe and sustainable materials. MONOPINK loves heavy chains, chains used for flagging/cruising, kawaii chains, and chains that dual-serve purpose as discreet daywear and kinkwear.

UEL RENTERIA

Uel Renteria (short for Samuel) grew up on punk rock and skateboarding in Southern California and has been in San Francisco since 2009. He is a Queer Mexican-American multimedia artist. He started his career in the arts at the age of 18 when he joined the U.S. Navy and served for four years as a photojournalist. He has worked as a freelance artist in the Bay Area for over 10 years now, most recently focused on studio work (Paintography) and curating an art party called Creator. Renteria makes Queer art and has been described as the Keith Haring of San Francisco. Renteria makes art move people to the point where they destroyed it and others to write letters to have it.

OSCAR ZAMORA GRAVES

Oscar Zamora Graves is a Gay collage and assemblage artist. He is an avid collector and archiver of vintage physique photography. He was born in Colima, Mexico, grew up in Orange County, and moved to San Francisco at 18. He studied Art and Art History at San Francisco State University and apprenticed as a decorative painter under Warner Graves.

His interests in Queer art and political history heavily influence his art. He first became aware and inspired by artists like James Bidgood, Harry Bush, and George Quaintance through a Queer art history class in his senior year of college. Slowly, the subject matter of his collages became more focused on models from Physique Pictorial and The Male Figure. He began collecting original physique magazines and large photo books from Fabulosa Books, The Magazine, and Auto Erotica. In 2021, he volunteered for the Bob Mizer Foundation, where he helped tag, organize, and catalog thousands of Mizer’s original film slides and learned about many more Gay photographers like Mel Roberts, Walter Kundzicz, and Roy Dean. His magazine and book collection is ever-expanding and open to the public.

His collages innovatively combine traditional and digital media. He scans images from original vintage magazines to create digital collages in Photoshop, prints the individual elements onto photo paper, cuts them out, and then reassembles them as three-dimensional pop-up paper collages. The result is a digital mixed-media composition masquerading as a traditional collage.

His art embraces the bold spirit of the 1960s by placing scantily clad beefcake models in vibrant, psychedelic, fantasy settings. His collages blend nostalgia with queer maximalism to offer a unique perspective of modern Gay erotic art through a fusion of physique and fantasy.
